It’s been over two decades since CAANWINGS forayed into Skilled Migration and Study Abroad as one of the pioneer consultancies taking people away from the dark shrouded illegal channels of moving abroad. “Studying abroad could be simple and settling abroad or migrating could be simpler” was the message that rocked the gullible senses of aspirants looking at moving abroad.

Skilled Migration to Australia was a tough one to get the hang of, but now we take pride in having sent scores of migrants to Australia who would have probably ended up going there on a student visa and slogging their way through the common causalities faced by many.

Interestingly, a section of Indians forms their opinion about Australia based upon the perceptions of students who try to stagger around their limited work hours, are not proficient enough in English to pick up a blue-collar job or those who simply find Australia expensive because they do not have the means to support themselves financially. Contrary to these skewed views, we have always seen Australia aa a very progressive country that designed its migration program to match the skill set of the skills in demand in Australia. Also, the country’s responsiveness to any misuse of the visa is what led to Australia becoming one of the most desired migration destinations for skilled workers looking at a safe and a work competitive environment.

Since our clientele spans across pan- India and to other countries such as Philippines, UAE, Canada, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, South Africa and many more, there are some clients I may never get to meet. The digital processing of the applications and lodgements do not require the applicants to interface with our office processing team in person. However, it feels awesome when a client drops by to say Hi and shares their success story of having made it in Australia.

One such client visited me on 29 Jan 2021. I remembered him as Sumit Mahajan, who was from the not so digital era; so he would drop by the office to submit his documents. His face was always beaming with positivity. He migrated to Australia in 2009. In a narration a few days back he surprised us by telling how he got a great job with a huge corporate company within two days of his landing in Melbourne. Sumit has always had us keep him in our minds by referring a 12 yearlong trail of friends and colleagues who would get in touch with us for moving abroad. He surprised me the other day dropping so many names of those who migrated through us, who in fact were indeed connected to him in one way or another.

I feel blessed to have such clients walk into our offices. Sumit now owns three cafes in Melbourne and is into aBuilding Construction business. It was touching to have him come and spend time in our office on his birthday on 29th Jan and motivating the office team for having chosen to work with a flawlessly transparent, committed and extremely competent company such as CAANWINGS.

A lot of those who are searching for a consultant to engage may not have had it that simple- a reference from someone who could vouch for the expertise of the company. Many must rely upon online reviews. That’s where the sad part lies- companies that have handled thousands of applicants over decades may not have had all happy clients. Some may have put up some negative reviews owing to their frustration or lack of ability to see where the client’s role in the application processing could have led to the process being stalled. And many negative comments about consultants come out as a competitor agenda or aggressive habitual blame-slappers with malafide intentions. Anyone in the public domain is subject to exploitative and unconventional manoeuvres owing to the sad social media binaries. A part of today’s branding strategy used by many companies also involves putting down competitors’ ranking through insensitive and derogatory statements by those brandishing a defamation strategy or a malicious propaganda.

But all of the dark side of the online mischief opportunities are set off by the happy faces of thousands of clients who’ve migrated to Australia and come back to tell us “Hey! This is where we set afoot our journey to where we are today and we just wanted to come in and say “Thank You”! Our commercial [monetary] transactions end with the client being granted a visa, but what they give us by calling, emailing or walking in to say a “Thank You” is Priceless!
